Smart Label is a comprehensive
and intelligent labelling system which automatically reads formulae
and applies the rules of the prevailing legislation to dynamically
create up-to-date and accurate labels, with the minimum of fuss.
Smart Label generates labels for formulations stored in
Single-Mix®, or the archive (Tracer or Rchive).
Tracer is even able to archive a copy of the generated label
for future reference.
Labels can include a wide variety of information derived from
the formulation itself, such as -
|
|
|
 |
Product details
such as code, name, version number etc. |
| |
|
 |
Lists of recipe contents
as groups or separate ingredients, and presented in ascending
or descending order. |
| |
|
 |
Information
and warning messages such as purpose statements, feeding guides
and medicinal additive indications. |
| |
|
 |
Nutrient analysis declarations. |
| |
|
 |
Other information such
as sequence numbers, manufacture and best before dates, addresses,
customer details etc. |
Smart Label is designed with productivity and accuracy
foremost in mind. Using a template
system ensures simplicity - all that is needed is to define the
data which must appear on the label and to choose its layout.
Changes can be made and applied to all labels simply and rapidly.
The message library holds standard paragraphs and text to make
maintenance easy. The messages may relate to nutritional and ingredient
content of the recipe and may appear on the label by the presence
of of particular levels of nutrients and ingredients, and depending
on the type of product.
Thus the recipe composition drives exactly what appears on the
label, according to the rules defined in the template, and context
sensitive to the product type and its intended use.

Label printing and output
Smart Label provides basic printing facilities which will
support a wide range of printers including dot matrix printers
outputting multiple labels at once.
However, for more glamorous printing, including barcodes, HAZOP
warning symbols and a full customisable label presentation, the
optional OutSmart
module should be added.
Smart Label also provides standard interfacing facilities
so that label text may be exported to other third-party systems
if required. These could included in-line bagging systems or despatch
modules in larger business systems.
