Bio-Security™ Formula Security Checks |
|||
|
Products may deviate from specification following rounding, or following post-optimization changes to the ingredient matrix, or to the specification matrix. Some deviations are small and can be tolerated; others must be trapped and reported as errors. The Bio-Security™ module performs quality assurance checks on formula prior to their implementation for manufacturing. It reports on formulae which fail one or more of the defined security checks, according to rules and tolerances which are user-defined. In Bio-Security™ each product is allocated a "tolerance template" and this defines permissible deviations from the product specification. The deviations are expressed as upper and lower tolerances and they may be absolute, or percentage deviations, or may be defined as fixed levels. Up to 1000 nutrients may be controlled. The template also
defines the threshold value for each nutrient unit cost, and products
with costs exceeding the threshold are reported. The template also
defines the target probability level for meeting specification. Bio-Security™
reports on products whose nutrient levels fail the desired probability
target for meeting specification.
