Milestones

At Format International we are proud of our achievements in the field of recipe optimization and ingredient allocation.

We have a consistent record of being the first to bring new techniques and ideas to our customers, and we are committed to continuing that tradition.

Some of the key milestones in the development of our products are described below.

In addition to the significant advances in techniques, Format has released major new versions of its NC™ system in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006.

Each version contains important new functionality, all based on the wishes of our users.

2006

New module: Outsmart™ - label printing tool combining Smart Label™ label text with logos, warning icons, barcodes and flexible design.

Tracer™ enhanced to store labels and provide integrated Bio-Security™ check and storage of results.

2004

New module: FreeForm™ - Report designer tool.

New: ODBC drivers for open access to NC™ data

2003   New module: Quote Master™ - customer focused formulation and cost quotation system.

2002   New module: Tracer™ - archving tool providing traceability on the whole formulation system.

2001

New optimisation technique: Integra-Mix® - First program to optimise multi-level recipes sharing sub-components.

Integra-Mix® wins innovation award at Victam 2001.

2000   New module: BioSecurity™ - QC check on formulas prior to acceptance or transfer to production.

1995   Launch of New Century™. The first formulation system designed and programmed for modern 32-bit technology standards

1991   New optimisation technique: First to include probability constraints into the optimisation in the QC-Mix™ program.

1990   First "intelligent" labelling system, Elabel, is released.

1985   New optimisation technique: Global-Mix® - First program to optimise multi-plant, multi-time period models.

1983   New optimisation technique: Bin-Mix™ - First program to optimise silo resource problem.

1974

New optimisation technique: Multi-Mix™ - First least cost resource optimisation program.

New optimisation technique: Parametrics™ - Step-wise investigation of problem factors.

1971   Release of Single-Mix®, first commercially available least cost feed formulation program
